Towne Plumber is a locally owned, licensed and insured plumbing company based in Woodstock, Georgia, United States.[1] It has served Cherokee County and surrounding North Georgia communities since 2017,[2] providing residential and light commercial plumbing, including water heater, drain and sewer, leak detection, water line and emergency services.[1]
History
Towne Plumber began operating in Cherokee County in 2017.[2] It is owned by master plumber Shane Mahaffey.[5][6] In a March 2023 episode of Fearless Formula on Cherokee Business Radio, the company was described as locally owned and operated in Woodstock, with most of its work in the surrounding area.[7]
In July 2025 the company launched a redesigned website with service information, customer testimonials, a financing application and online booking for emergency plumbing.[8] In October 2025 it launched a YouTube channel with educational videos and customer testimonials.[2]
During 2026 Towne Plumber added tankless water heater installation and maintenance in January,[9] full water heater replacement in March,[10] expanded leak detection across North Georgia in June[3] and expanded water line repair in Cherokee County in July.[5] In October 2026 it opened a larger location at 8926 Main Street in Woodstock, which the company said would let it serve a growing customer base and respond faster to service requests.[1]
Services
Towne Plumber provides general residential and light commercial plumbing, including water line repair and replacement, water filtration systems, sewer line diagnostics and replacement, toilet and fixture installation, garbage disposals, drain cleaning, leak detection, kitchen and bathroom plumbing remodels and emergency plumbing for burst pipes, loss of hot water and severe leaks.[1] It also offers whole-house maintenance plans and financing.[4]
Water heaters
In January 2026 the company expanded into tankless water heater installation, repair and maintenance, working with Rinnai, Rheem and Navien systems in gas and electric models.[9] In March 2026 it added full replacement of both traditional tank and tankless water heaters, with technicians trained on gas and electric units.[10]
Leak detection and water lines
Towne Plumber's leak detection combines visual inspection, high-sensitivity leak detectors, thermal imaging, acoustic equipment and pressure testing to find leaks in water lines and plumbing systems without invasive digging.[3]
In July 2026 the company expanded its water line repair and replacement services, citing a rise in water line failures in North Georgia homes built before 2000. It uses diagnostics and minimally invasive repair methods intended to protect landscaping, and reroutes lines where needed.[5]
Service area
The company serves Woodstock, Canton, Acworth, Roswell, Holly Springs, Kennesaw, Marietta and other communities in Cherokee County and surrounding Georgia areas.[1] Its leak detection service also covers Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Emerson, Smyrna, Cartersville and Ball Ground.[3]
Community
Towne Plumber sponsors local groups including the Bascomb Elementary PTA, CYFA Cheer and the Eagle Watch Swim Team.[2][6]
